This task is most useful once your garage is organized. You could use several iterations of a 10-MIN MIRACLE to get your garage to a good maintenance level. However, it is best to take a Saturday and have a Garage Clean-Up Day to organize it so your child will succeed in maintaining the garage.

Each day, if they are outside and utilizing the stuff in the garage, build a 5 -10 minute clean up in their routine. Factor this time into their playtime and redirect them if they come inside without putting things back where they belong. It’s a little extra activity that will save you time in the long run.

Also, watch for the things being dropped in the garage that are not put where they belong. This mainly happened to us when we returned home and were on the way into the house via the garage. Again, redirect them and give them a few minutes to put things where they belong.
