I’m sure your child is no stranger to car washing by now. If you have been following this incremental approach for several years, you probably have engaged their assistance in washing the car alongside you. Now, it is time for them to take the reins and be able to wash the car all by themselves.

It is important to set your child up for success. Ensure you have one of the items needed to wash the car properly. Pick a time when the sun is not directly shining on the vehicle. Make them read the back of the car soap bottle to know the ratio of soap to water. The reason is that all car wash soaps are different, and you want them to get in the habit of looking at the product recommendations. Some people like using dish soap to wash their car, but it tends to leave a residue and is unsuitable for the paint.

If you have a pressure washer and want to teach them how to use it, ensure they understand this tool’s power. We had several boys around the same age. So, they just got the water hose and the spray nozzle for safety reasons. Help them to understand that when they rinse their rag, the dirt from the car falls to the bottom, and it is important not to dip their rag to the bottom because they will pick up the dirt on the rag, which will scratch the paint on the car.

Have them start by rinsing off the carb first with a spray nozzle. This will get rid of most of the dirt that has accumulated on the car. Then place the correct amount of car soap in the bucket and fill it with water. Working in sections, wash with a microfiber rag and rinse. Then marsh the bumpers and those wheels. Rinse everything well. They can use microfiber towels or any other super-absorbent towel to dry everything. It’s best to start from the top and work your way to the bottom. They can then go ahead and clean windows, vacuum the car and wax it if necessary.

We usually divide up car care or car care tasks in our home. It Was added to the category of yard work.
