Similar to vacuuming in the living room, vacuuming in the car is not much different. The main obstacle is learning how to manipulate the upholstery attachments and get in and around small spaces. You may also need a more robust vacuum cleaner like a shop vac. Spend time showing your child exactly how the shop vac works. Also, you will need to discuss extension cords and where the best place to plug them in is located. 

It is also essential to ensure that all trash is picked up in the car, as small pieces of paper or wrappers can cause the hose to be obstructed. Our children seemed to suck up pens and pencils that would fall in between the seats. Supervising this activity several times before you expect them to do it independently is best.
